Following straight on from Saturday's excellent Spen Valley trial at Cockhill Lead Mines, the Yeadon Guiseley club replied with round eight of the 2023 series.

As the second part of a cracking Yorkshire double, the trial was staged at the club's Dob Park venue, near Otley and the Y&G faithful know how to get the best out of it.

The 20 section course, lapped twice as usual, was divided into two loops of 10 sections each, the first down below the start area in the Dob Park woods before the second loop was tackled over the road and back into the trees.

With another fine day conditions were pretty near perfect to tackle the bankings, tight                                                        turns and streams which still featured a trickle of water to keep things interesting.

Experts Air-cooled Mono again featured Honda TLM260R two-strokes, this time out                                                          Lincolnshire's Roman Kyrnyckyj came out top with Spinksy having to settle for second                                                        after his Saturday win. Patrick Edwards waved the Yamaha flag in third place.

Yorkshire's Will Tolson used his Fantic power to again pip Honda TLR mounted

Welsh challenger Miles Jones in Expert Twinshock. Will's laps being just two marks

each for a winning four mark total as Miles also kept in single figures, just nine marks.

Behind these two battlers were the Fantics of Richard Webster and local ace James

Noble - a former Scottish Pre-65 Two Day winner when Ariel mounted.

Final Experts class saw Paul Dennis again take a convincing maximum points from a

fading Robin Luscombe, a hard week eventually catching up with Lusky who was only

three marks adrift after the first lap. Kevin Ellis and Nick Jefferies completed the Experts

line-up.

Clubman A-c Mono saw Fantic mounted Devonian Martin Gilbert continue his Championship charge with another convincing victory while behind, Scot Steven Mycock moved his Yamaha TY up from third on Saturday to the runner-up berth in Dob Park.

Cumbrian Pete Blowers nailed third on his very smart Montesa 309 ahead of                                                                     Saturday's runner-up Paul 'Wobbler' Norman.

There was a new Rockshocks winner in Clubman Twinshocks and that was West                                                                 Leeds stalwart Howard Gulley who managed a rare victory over series regular                                                                     Derrick Edmondson, both Honda mounted. Derrick led on just a single mark after                                                              the first lap but nine on the second gave him a 10 mark total but Howard's five                                                                     and two trumped that for a seven mark winning total.

Fantic powered Ian Haigh and Chris Tolson finished

right behind on 11 and 12 marks respectively.

Wetherby's Ian Myers completed a weekend winning double on his Cub to post a

strong Championship challenge in Clubman Britshock although Darren Walker ran him

close, the scores 11 against 12 with Chris Myers' first lap of 14 costing him dear and

having to settle for third on the day.

Top marks to both the Spen Valley and Yeadon Guiseley for a belting weekend

in Yorkshire.
